He looks like a boy, went through this last week with photos on here. Everybody here said a boy and this one looks exactly like mine. I heard a crow and couldn't figure out who it was, sure enough, a day later he crowed in my presence.
Here is the post...page 2 and 3 has his photos...
I do not know, they were on craigslist last month and I picked them up. I am new at this and was told they were hens. Yesterday I had to rehome them as they were a pair that woke up the neighbors at 4:30 am, the pictured one was a rooster. I could not seperate them, didn't have the heart...
Took him and his girl to the feed store, they took them and promised to let them go as a pair only. They are 1 year olds that have lived together the whole time, couldn't stand to see them seperated. He showed his rooster instincts immediately at the feed store, placed them in a cage next to...
The grey one, got him couple weeks ago with another and he sleeps by himself on roost outsidet the coop. I was told it was a she and about 1 year old. Maybe this photo of him will help.
Thank you, thank you, I hope you guys are right so far. #1 is our favorite bird, Henny. The wife and I love them all, maybe we were hearing things this morning.
I live in the city and must figure out who the rooster is, he crowed this morning. Will he crow through-out the day or just in the morning. I will take photos tonight and post and maybe some of you experts can help me identify. They were born on August 28 and am hoping it isn't my Georgia or...
Just getting started, my wife wanted chickens and I took over, very exciting. I browsed this site to get alot of ideas. I am just not satisfied yet, must be a chicken bug like the jeep bug.
I built this run along the side of garage, it is 5 ft x 25 ft with cedar fence all around and chicken wire buried 2 feet down (after first kill by neighbor's dog). The top is made out of some plastic/vinyl netting attached to seperate sections for easy removal. The actual coop is 4x4 for 4...
I can put up photos later. I live in southern california so they get regular daylight. My concern is really not that I need eggs, just was hoping to get some from these girls. I know they are not the best egg laying breed, got them for my daughters as pets mostly. They are with (4) 9 week...
New to the forum, been lurking a few weeks. New to parenting chickens as well, wife's idea but I end up taking a liking to it. Any chicken shows in southern california? 2 silkies, 3 americaunas and 1 black and white hen. Definately learning much here.
I took some 1 year old silkies in and they are not laying. The previous owner said they were laying and were about 1 year old, what can the problem be? I am new to chicken parenting, starting to wonder if they are roosters, do silkie roosters crow?
