    PLEASE HELP. Sick chicken?

About 4 days ago, I noticed my EE seemed a little quieter than normal. She is the personality of the flock, and my favorite little fluff ball. Every time I open the back door, I know what her day consisted of. But these last few days she's been trying to talk to me, and all I get it a very airy...

Is this normal? First time chicken owner

My GLW is my only laying chicken, so finding any egg is exciting. Today she laid her normal early morning egg, probably around 8 or 9. I got home from work and let them out around 3pm. TWO HOURS LATER, she's acting like she has to poop but can't so I watch her and within a minute or two, out...

    Bloody comb problems

I came home about a week ago to find my gold laced wyandotte's comb slightly bloody. I'm pretty sure it got caught on the wire around the coop but it looked like it was cut all the way down, as if you were slicing a cake. It took a few days, but it seemed to be scabbing up and healing on its...

    Egg-xactly when will they lay?

All are just over 16 weeks old. I've read that once the combs and wattles start turning a bright red, egg laying can't be far off. Mostly just noticed a difference in color on my GLW. Any and all comments are welcome. Thanks!

    Sexing chicks

They all look pullet-y to me How old are they?
  18. kittykatchick

First time chicken owner- rooster or pullet?

(approx. 6-7 weeks) So the fact that the combs and wattles are developing further and changing color now, doesn't necessarily mean they're roosters?
  19. kittykatchick

    Pullet or cockrel?

I would be pretty confident in saying chickens # 2, 3, as well as the last, are pullets... 1, 4 and 5 look to be roosters. Does # 5 have huge feet? That would be the only one that I'm not too sure about. Hope that helps a bit! Oh, and good luck!
