    "concerned" neighbors

Hi, I'm not sure there is a solution other than either keeping your chickens in the coop or putting up a fence. Perhaps a cheap chicken wire and garden cane fence would do the job thought? Who did the fence belong to that you took down? Perhaps you could both contribute towards a fence?

    Integration almost complete...but not quite

Thanks all. I love that you can get so much advice on here. I don't think I can extend the run as for it to be safe at night it would have to have a roof, which is probably more work than I can do in the next two weeks before I go on holiday. (Given I'm recovering from gastroenteritis as well)...

    Integration almost complete...but not quite

Thanks for the quick reply but I know the run is small, that's why they free range except when I am mowing the lawn so I don't mow them as they follow me like shadows. I don't have the facilities to change their run. Is there anything I can do to help speed up the integration? I know three...

    A Lone Chicken

I originally had two hens, after one died I ended up with my remaining hen acting like you describe. I could only say that she seemed depressed! She had previously been free range so I started locking her out of the nesting box after she had laid, she got more attached to us and to our dog...

    Is my hen a roo?

I have a 6/7 week old black rock and blue ranger. Do they look different because they are different breeds or is my blue ranger a boy? She isn't as well feathered and has a much pinker comb than her friend? [/IMG]

    Integrating chicks

Thanks everyone, I'm going to try free ranging them later in the week. I'm plying them with lots of treats at the moment, Clucker farms, you needed to have posted your own thread then more people might have seen it. It sounds like your chick has pasty butt, you need to soak her bottom and try...

Thanks, I havnt really got anywhere enclosed enough that I can sit in and they can run around me but although they still run squawking when I try to pick them up they calm down a lot quicker if I sit down and hold them...I think we are getting there slowly.
