    DIY Pond - Help!

Hello! We just added ducks to our flock this past month and have been using a kiddie pool. We have 4 ducks and 1 goose. I know there are a lot of threads on ponds but I’m having a hard time going through them & finding the right information. Here is what we have & what I’m wanting but looking...

Polish hen being picked on ?

Thank you so much for the information! We got them in June and she was about 8 weeks old. She definetly has her own personality but she's too funny, I love her! We plan on adding to the flock next summer so I will keep in mind getting another Polish! Thanks again

Polish hen being picked on ?

We got 4 chickens this summer so I'm still figuring out what is "normal". Originally I thought our polish hen Pineapple , was just molting because of her head feathers looking like they are growing out. After reading some other threads others have mentioned possibility of other chickens pulling...

Earthquakes & RACCOONS -- stressful morning

This might be a really stupid question but would the electric fence hurt the chickens? Or will they know now to touch it?

Earthquakes & RACCOONS -- stressful morning

It's been a hectic morning for the beach coop girls. It started shortly after 7am when my husband and I woke up to the girls throwing a fit! Every once in awhile we can hear them from the house but nothing like this. At the time we had no idea what was going on, but soon to find out there was an...

Help! Scab on top of beak/comb-- normal?

I've only had chicken for about two months so I'm not sure what's normal or not. We have a polish hen who I thought was going through molting and growing out a comb but it looks more like a scab today and some of her head feathers look broken. I tried to clean it up, it's not bleeding and she is...

Polish hen won't use ramp to get into coop....

Oh well...I don't know then..... maybe she can't see well, too much top knot? Is there lots of windows for light in the coop? [/quote ]I'm thinking its a sight problem because of her feathers but I hate to cut them. She just started molting today so maybe that will help?

Thanks I'll try it- but what I don't understand is that if I put her on the very end of the ramp she (and the others) can all walk up it...

Polish hen won't use ramp to get into coop....

I have four chickens ranging from 4-6 months old. Three of them manage to make it back into the coop at night but our polish is having difficulty and I always find her roosting on a big box we have in the run . Usually I don't mind helping her into the run at night but tonight we came home to...

    Any Roo's ??

I'm very curious to see if EE (her name is Peach) and SSH (flying Mango) get any bigger. They have seemed to stay the same size since we got them but I've been very surprised to see how much bigger our polish (Pineapple) has gotten . So far we had figured Peach and mango were pullets but...

    Any Roo's ??

Just curious to see if we have any roosters in the bunch. We got 4 chickens the first week of June. 3 of them were about 8 weeks old and the buff rock was about 12 weeks . She started laying a week ago but the other three don't look anywhere close. Thanks in advance! :)

    Hanging bird feeder

My husband and I got our first hens about two weeks ago! I had a standard feeder in the coop but yesterday I got a hanging bird feeder (picture attached below) but it doesn't look like they've touched it! Is it too complicated for them? I also attached some pictures of my girls
