I recently received chicks from Ideal that I decided to go ahead and vaccinate for Marek's disease. I was not thinking about my existing flock and I was wondering if it is safe to combine the two. What are your experiences?
Has anyone ordered NN from Ideal and if you have, do you get colored eggs from them? That's what they post on their site and mine have not started to lay yet. I was wondering if anyone out there is getting tinted eggs from their NN????
After 7 months of waiting, I was thrilled to find my FIRST tinted egg! Why is it that such a small thing can derive so much pleasure??? Only my fellow chicken lover's out there will understand such a treasure. Just had to share...

I'm considering buying a Welsummer roo for my flock and was wondering what the possible results might be? I posted this under management but got nada...hoping to do better on this category. Here are some pics of my girls from earlier today.
Okay...so I started this chicken adventure with no intentions of ever having a rooster in my flock. I only wanted a few eggs for the table. That turned into 16 various chickens free-ranging on our 13 acres and 4 ducks on our pond. The number of chickens has reduced to 12 due to predation...
I have 2 female Khaki Campbells and a male and female Roen. They are 14 weeks old. They are growing very nicely and appear to be happy and healthy but they rarely eat any feed I give them. I only put out 4 cups of feed (1 cup each) because I got tired of wasting it when they never ate it...
