    Late Rooster?

Its possible for hens to have high combs too? This one is the first hatch, always a late featherer, was wondering if this one is a hen or rooster as well. Originally saying its a hen until its comb has grown as well.

I will take pictures in the morning of his saddle area tomorrow. I was planning to start separating the chicks into trios or pairs depending on roosters and hens.

    Late Rooster?

Well visually it's hard to tell when they're still young. The younger roosters than this one have already shown signs over a month ago with their comb and growth. He was the biggest of the group of 9 that hatched, but being placed out into a colder environment (32 to 56 degree) he stopped...

    Late Rooster?

Is this a rooster or hen? Hatched November 4th. Question is, when can we say that a hen is no longer a rooster? Can there be "late" bloomers? This one didnt look like this until the past week or so.

    Swelling Feet. HELP!

So my ayam cemani rooster Carlos fell from his perch and got stuck at the side in my coop. Not sure how long he was stuck there. He was basically squooshed. When I found him he was very weak, his feet and everything else was fine aside from not able to walk and hungry. The side was pretty cold...

    Yolk? Hernia? Safe to cut?

Different chick same problem. Now umbilical area is all sealed up. It is internal instestines and stuff, but must be caught during hatch before it dries! Q-tipped it back into the body, held firmly and bandaid. Try not to use too big or too small of bandaid. Will be hard to take off after...

Mak I had 8 fertile. 5 were hatching, and the first 2 piper were the ones that died with the ooze and the last 3 all had no issue besides one who had intestines sticking out from umbilical cord area but was successfully sealed within 24hr with a bandaid, which was just going to post pic in my...

    Luquid From Hatching Chicks/Egg?

Awww. I was hoping its something that I could correct. But this does make me more aware that IF I see something oozing out I should probably try to do something, even tho its not recommended to help hatch but if it's going to die, I guess its worth the try next time.

    Luquid From Hatching Chicks/Egg?

My question now is if it is humidity, like for say, if the air cell was a little less than 1/4 at day 18 or during lock down, should I still up the himidity? Or keep it at the lower 45-60% range? Or even lower?

    Luquid From Hatching Chicks/Egg?

Day 1-18 ranged from 35%-60%. This is the first time it happened. And I did do an eggtopsy on it. It seemed like the beaks were sealed shut from the fluid inside that leaked out it seemed like. The others are hatching out fine?
