Hi, jumping in here I have mum and her chicks indoors at the moment and my question is can i put her outside with the chicks in a contained coop within my run? The coop has an outside run and nesting box but the babies are only a week old and I think mum is getting a Lil bored/frustrated.

I have moved her I hope successfully! I took whatever nesting material with her and the eggs. She did run a bit amok in the coop but I managed to guide her back to her nest. Fingers crossed!
I have also managed to thrive the chook eggs and put them under my broody hen!
I bought a large polytunnel that fits my coop inside. It has paving slabs holding it down on top of the flaps dug into the ground. They know when it's bed time and pile inside when I come out to lock them up. You may have more horrid predators than me though.

This is my first hatch so a toal newbie but I have been picking mine up every day....Hopefully all of them lol! I take 4 at a time in a warm tea towel and sit with them for 10 min or so. I have made an effort to handle the sher ones more frequently. I am hoping this will make for tamer chooks...
