There's something wrong with my newly hatched chick

Your most likely seeing the umbilical cord. DO NOT REMOVE IT. Sometimes when a chick first hatches thier neck cN look a bit crooked depending on the position in the egg. They will have a bump on the back of the neck which is the muscles used to peck out. Recent hatched chickens need a good 24/48...

Is this a normal chick poop?

Looks like there might be a bit if blood? Most likely cocci. Are you feeding medicated chicken starter? I'd separate it if the other chicks are knocking it around. Keep it warm, put it on corid (no vitamins). You can also mix the crumbles with corid for a chick.

    Lonely Chicken

Anytime you add new chickens there's usually a bit of fussing as chickens will establish a pecking order. Weather you add one or more there will likely be some fussing initially. I would add more than one, that way, a single hen will not bear the brunt of pecking order establishment. Feed them...

Chicken won’t go in hen house at night

Take out that roosting bar in the middle of the run. Attach it inside the coop about the same height. Feed them in the coop. I think they most likely really like that roosting bar and it has become habitual to use it. If you dont have vent holes around the top of your coop...drill some holes...

Heart breaking day on the farm...

I had similar issues years ago. I tried talking with the neighbor, but he to was a POS. Numerous calls to animal control didn't really resolve the issue, and tensions flared. My own dogs kept in a run " disappeared". Its difficult to deal with neighbors like that. I ended up fencing my entire...

    Marek’s or something else????

I realized I had mareks in my chickens 3 years ago. I purchased chicks that evidently were infected. I raise a few chicks every year, but they all succumb to it between 5mo to a year. I have yet to have any chickens developed resistance. The only birds I have that survived it are hens that had...

    Marek’s or something else????

The only way to know if its mareks is to have the bird necropsied. It looks like mareks. Sadly, I have it in my birds. Usually in the later stages they do get a weird green poo that has a stronger smell. In the beginning I did a lot of research and tried a lot of things. I could keep them going...

    Rooster Issue

In my own flock i've noticed that as the weather turns warmer my roos hormones are higher and they are more aggressively mating the hens. I breed a few brahma every year and my observations are that once the young roos hormones kick in they can be pretty hard on the hens for a few months. Even...

    Help! A new wound appeared

Quail are ground feeders that like to move about and forage. If the cage is to small for them to move around adequately, the stress/boredom of confinement will cause aggression.

    Help! A new wound appeared

I don't know much Bout quail, but my best quess is that the hen is pecking him. Some this that may cause aggression >how big is your cage? Are you giving them plenty to eat? Enough protien, calcium, vitamins? Stress will cause pecking, dietary deficiency, not enough food.
