Casey Family Farm
We started out with a couple of ducks and guineas. Now we're moving on the the world of chickens. Once the weather warms up a little I'll be building a coop and run. I'll also post some pics along the way.
Here's my setup.
Another angle.
Inside - There's a linoleum...
My daughter's preschool class hatched these out 6 weeks ago and I have yet to figure out what breed they are. Their teacher ordered them as a mixed bag of eggs so we don't even have breeds to choose from. Three of them appear to be the same breed and one is different. Thanks for any help you...
My Daughter's preschool hatched these out and donated them to my flock. Her teacher ordered them of Ebay as a "mixed bag." Three of them are the gray/solver color and one is brownish. Any ideas what they might be? They are 2 1/2 weeks old in these pics. Also, one of the grays and the brown...

Thanks for the quick reply. She is worried she lost them, but I'll relay your info to her that they should still be good, just maybe a little late hatching. Thanks again.
My DD's preschool is trying to hatch some eggs. The eggs have been in the incubator for roughly 7 days. Their regular teacher was out with a sick family member most of yesterday. When she returned this morning she found that someone had adjusted the thermostat yesterday and the temp was down...

I have 2 ducks, a female pekin and a female blk swedish. I know they are both female because of the lack of a drake feather and they both lay in separate nests and their eggs are different colors. Now here lately I have caught the swedish on the pekins back as if she is trying to mate her...
Our guinea has been sitting on a well hidden nest. So well I never did find it, but today she showed up at the edge of the corn field with 3 babies. So far I can't get close enough to catch them. Is that what I should do if I can or will they be safe with their mom and dad around? I'll try...
I have had my nipple water system in the run for going on day 3 now and I have yet to see the hens drink from it. I have jiggled and tapped on it until I'm about to give up. They do not have any other water source so I'm beginning to get concerned they will dehydrate. I have stuck cherries...
