    Green Membrane?

Hello! I have a broody silkie who has kicked out all of her eggs but one, and her one egg is hatching. The baby pipped earlier today, maybe four ours ago. Silkie momma has been switching around nests with one of my other broody hens that acts as a baby sitter, and I’ve checked on the chick just...

No punctures or rips in the crop itself but the skin around the crop are the parts causing the bleeding we think.

    Extreme Injury!! HELP

We sprayed her with the spray we had, and she jumped out of the coop pretty quickly. She’s already been drinking quite a bit. Her wound is just dripping blood but there are no cuts or punctures in her wound that we can see. I can’t do much for her because we have no supplies for surgeries...

    Extreme Injury!! HELP

We have a spray wound care from a feed store from a past injury. Blood is dripping from the wound. She’s moving around quite a bit and ran away from me when I caught her. She’s mostly sitting hunched over. She also got very watery poop running out of her vent.

Serve open head wound is Black

I agree with what you said and that’s what we would have done but she was in bad shape. It was the only option we had at the moment, but I wouldn’t advise anybody else to do the same without taking caution because it could cause pain for the chicken.

Serve open head wound is Black

One of my chickens was bitten by a dog once and had similar symptoms of seizing, not eating, and not drinking. We got her in a coop alone with food and water, kept it ventilated and dry and relatively shady in there for her. We poured hydrogen peroxide on the wound, then put triple antibiotic in...

    Line Breeding Questions

So I’ve been thinking about maybe line breeding some of my chickens, but not the usual kind of line breeding. I want to line breed two chickens of different breeds. Possibly a silkie and a mottled Cochin or silkie and a Mille fleur D’uccle, but I was wondering if it’s safe to line breed like...

Review by 'Allie❤️Chickens' in article 'Dealing With Roosters Roo Behavior'

My mother is scared to death of my roos and when she helps take care of them they take advantage of that fear. This is going to help our problem so much

what should I do for my roo?

I agree with everyone else. Bantams aren’t good being kept in the cold, especially alone. I’d keep him inside where he can’t get too messy yet still has some room to move around. Hope this helps! :D

    Egg Identification

That’s what I thought about the Brahma. The other is from the same coop and my silkie is at laying age. No other eggs from our older chickens have looked like that but our older chickens often sneak in the bantam coop when we let them out to explore the smaller coop. Sometimes they lay in that...

    Chickens have stopped laying eggs!

They are just taking a break, it’s what most chickens do. No need to be concerned, they just don’t really like laying when there are big weather changes. Hope this helps! :)

    Egg Identification

I’m So we’re re trying to hatch eggs but want to know exactly what we’re hatching. I have two Porcelain d’uccles, one brown Brahma bantam, and a white silkie. We’ve just started getting eggs from them so we’re going to wait a little longer before we start putting them in the incubator, but I was...
