Apologise, I didn't realise i had replies, It's definitely lice, that i am finally getting on top of having had to resort to using Ivermectin.
We had a crappy winter and late snow so their chances to dust were limited but i never thought of the Marek's allowing the lice in, now i'm getting on...
I have done more research than I ever have on this disease, I've had chickens for 20 years and never had a problem or new of it. Then I got fancy an bought birds from local papers etc.. and now i wished i hadn't, I seem to have problem after problem, if it's not worms, it's lice or something...
Whilst trying to google an answer, i found this old thread on here...

Defiantly lice, got the nits and seen the little buggers crawling all over my birds, ive just spoken to my vet about another poorly chicken that i had sent off for testing, which preliminary results have come back as Mareks, so it seems these lice have brought out a disease i didn't know i had...
Hi all,
Little update, just spoken to my vet and the preliminary report is that it's possible Mareks. There were lesions on the cranial nerve (??!! somthing like that, it wasn't the sciatic nerve) They are running tests and will confirm in a couple of days. :hit:hit:hit:hit:he
I did the same thing with my Husband, and we have concluded the cause could have been wild birds, I hd a wild bird feeder just outside of my chicken run and have seen pigeons milling around. I've cleared away the bird feeder and my chicken feeders pest proof but I just get on top of the lice.
I...
