She used to be active. Sleeps all the time now. When I put my hand in the brooder she still comes and wants to be held. She drinks little water and picks at the food. A little off balanced and fluffed up. Poor baby has no more spunk. I've tried worming everyone, then I tried corrid for the blood...
So I received an egg, put it in the bator that's been proven. Did my normal routine and now on day 20 after lockdown on day 18 nothing. Day 23, nothing. So I took out to candle and it's 3/4 dark and had a normal looking pocket. Why did it stop developing?? Can I leave it in longer and hope it...
He was fine this morning then now is not. Went pale, won't move, and puffed up. The others are starting to show signs of puffing up but still acting normal. Any ideas? I can find his crop. Wen I lift him a little his legs are shaking.
Good day! Im sure these 2 are just mixes of who knows what but thought i would try. Came from bantam tub @ TSC.
Dark one is first 3 pictures.
Light one is last 3 pictures.
So this baby is almost 6 weeks. And while the rest of it's crew is outside fully feathered it's still inside growing! So it's feathers show roo, it's feather growth rate shows roo. But the comb? Not even a pinch growing, nothing!
So what is it? And maybe the breed?
Good morning,
This could be an every breed problem but i need a little help. My Bel Mal has a gas problem. I am not talking the "Dang boy that one was stinky" gas, I am talking the "We need to evacuate because someone will die" gas. Already had to do that twice. So i understand gas is normal...
Big question, the babies are outside and in a makeshift wire pen inside the big girl coop. They are about 5 weeks and almost feathered. We live in southern Texas. So my question is, how long do they stay in that temp pen before I let them out to free range? I have 6 big hens already free ranging...
So I have been struggling with finding a coop to accommodate my massive flock of 40+. Either the coops don't go larger than 30, or are super expensive, or don't have adequate shelter from the elements and only hold about 30. So I went another direction, crunched some numbers to give my free...
So I tried my hand at pet birds when I should have tried chickens from the beginning! This is my main big baby who is a Dominique. She absolutely loves being around me. I take her to the room next door away from the other babies for some personal time and this is what I receive. It's so cute...
I've loved watching her mowhawk grow in over the past few days. Got her from the bantam mix at TSC. Any ideas?
Here is her baby photo! They grow up so fast. *Wipes tear from under eye*
Hey everyone. I've hit day 18 and getting ready to lock down the chicken eggs in my incubator. The bator has been proven to hatch chicks and my gauges are right in the middle of the batch of eggs. I went to candle one last time to check on development and didn't like the outcome. I had 2 of 11...
Good day,
Didn't know how to title this. But it's come to my attention thanks to chicken math I will be having at least 50 hens. Now the feed costs scare me. So my question is, if these chickens get free range all day (only in coop at night to sleep) can that be an alternative to chicken feed...
Hey everyone! I'm having success in hatching eggs and am looking to spend a little money on a breed hard to find. If anyone has Yokohama hatching eggs please let me know!!
