    think i solved the problem. tuesday night as an experiment i modified the pop door so that she can't get in there. wednesday got 8 eggs and yesterday got 10. if today is in the same ballpark, she will be blamed as the culprit. no wonder she was farting so much.

    I'm trying to decide if I want to add insulation to the 8x12 coop I built this spring. Easy framing and still open walls mean that I could add some bats pretty easily or cellulose without too much trouble but am somewhat on the fence as to whether or not it's worth it.

    What's your favorite breed?

    I have five breeds of chickens, down from six after parting with our Speckled Sussex. I really like the BO's but the RIR's are my favorite. They follow me around like a dog, are quiet, very productive, excellent scratchers/foragers, etc. Great chickens IMO.
