Cockerel in need of new home without small children - Herts UK

7 month old cockerel free to a new home from Hertfordshire, UK. He is very focused on protecting his girls but has become very aggressive towards my one year old. Thus, we can't keep him. I strongly suggest a home where there is no children and with someone who won't be afraid of his bad...

My cockerel has taken a dislike to my one year old!

Thanks everyone. I totally agree that's she's too young to show him she's dominant. I think you're right, it's not worth the risk. For my information, is there something I could have done differently to stop him being like this in the first place or is this just his personality?

My cockerel has taken a dislike to my one year old!

Usually I keep my flock in a run in the back garden. For the first time today we let them free range in the garden but the cockerel (7 months) seems to have got it in for my daughter who's 17 months! Twice today he has run at her and pecked and pulled at her clothes. She wasn't being overly...

Has anyone used Flubenvet Layers Pellets?

Thank you for the info. Yes, I'm in the UK. I've been using Verm-X in the chooks' water but not 100% sure its doing the job, hence why I was wondering about other methods. Great, I'll have a look into the powder version, mixing it in with the feed sounds easy enough

Has anyone used Flubenvet Layers Pellets?

I'm considering using this method to worm my chickens but I'm wondering if you have to withdraw eggs while using? From what I've read you need to feed them the pellets for 7 consecutive days but I've found conflicting info about egg withdrawal. Can anyone advise?

Buff orpington sneezing and runny poo

Hi, thanks for the reply. It doesn't seem to be after eating or drinking it's just at random and it's never happened before. The sneezing started about 4 or 5 days ago. Slightly worried that one of my other hens has started now as well. Their behaviour seems normal but the weight loss bothers me.

Buff orpington sneezing and runny poo

Hi, I think my Orpington is poorly. She's had runny poo for about a week now (mainly light brown in colour) and has now started sneezing. She's lost weight and I don't think she's eating much of the layers pellets as her ceop is still feeling quite soft at the end of the day. She's definitely...
