I guess my sense of humor doesn’t translate well to writing. In my family, we use teasing forms of endearment like “butthead” and “little fart.” Please let me be clear: I adore my rooster. I spoil him rotten. I’m not getting rid of my chickens.
This will be my last post.
Luckily it isn’t a big issue but I don’t want it to become one. My neighbors adore him, but I wanted to make sure I had an option in case someone did complain. And normally I wouldn’t have a rooster but he was a very special case and they were going to euthanize him because no one wanted him...
You’re welcome! Your experience with it might vary (as every rooster is different) but having success with my pig-headed roo is definitely a good sign! He will still make one or two crow-tests a day to see if it’s still working but other than that, he’s nice and quiet! Cranky about the collar...

I don’t like the no-crow collars either. There were too many casualties for my comfort and I don’t like the idea of choking a roo to keep him quiet. I thought I’d try it with my roo because I was exhausting all options but the little fart had his own ideas
Hello friends! First post but a LOOOOONG time lurker! Sorry for the post length; TL;DR at the bottom. I know the title sounds like a clickbait article, but this has been a bumpy road for us! I have a small backyard flock in the suburbs of a major metropolitan city. We don’t have any laws about...
