I’ve been really into amigurumi lately. After making my country bunny I made a girl bunny with an Easter basket with eggs😁
Then I made a turtle with an egg… many mistakes made as this was something I made up. I’ll have to make anything one now that I refreshed my memory on a few things.
And my...
I’m sure I’m wayyyyy late for this. It’s been a busy past week. Got sick right after Easter and now pretty sure I have laryngitis on top of a sinus infection 🤦♀️ Not being able to talk more then a squeak is so frustrating.
Anyway, I was completely surprised when I had three pekin mix eggs...
Have you candled any of the eggs to check for movement?
A short spike I’m sure won’t do too much, but if it’s been swinging I’m not sure how it would effect them. I’m not experienced enough to say.
I have any pipped?
14 hatched so far! If I’m counting right… it looks like I have 6 fully feather chicks and 8 naked necks! Kinda hard to tell for certain with everyone running around. Lol I’m am pretty excited about 3 out of 5 marans came out as naked necks😁
Will do! I’ll take them out in the morning. I’m hoping they will encourage the others to hatch.
My humidity was 20-30% for 18 days and then bumps to 60-65% for lockdown. Once the first egg pipped it’s been between 70-71%
One bandaid is really all that’s needed to fix its legs. Maybe another to use for its foot if the toes are still slightly curled.
I’ve hatched a good number of jumbo guineas that had the same issue and they are completely fine after a day or two with a bandaid to help keep their legs together...
Yeah. A raised one with a bottom drain would be the easiest to clean out. My setup isn’t the simplest to maintain, but I don’t mind. I have a koi pond that is essentially setup the same way. Unlike the duck pond the koi pond is only drained empty once a year. So maintenance is much easier.
Yes. I use the pond pump to empty most of the water and then use the smaller pump( it’s by the fake rock next to the fence) to lower it even more for a full empty out.
I also found using a plastic snow shovel works perfectly to get the gunk and extra water out. It went really fast.
I agree that trying to hatch some eggs from a different flock could help confirm or deny that it’s your flock that’s to blame.
I have the same problem with my French guinea fowl. They do not hatch well on their own. Standard guineas, turkey, and chickens do just fine. So I don’t believe the...
Just the way there is a small dark mass on one side and connects to the bigger mass on the other side. It looks like it isn’t as mature and filled out as the rest of my eggs.
It’s a forced air incubator so I wouldn’t think there are cold spots in it.
