    naked neck- male or female

I bought this baby under the impression it was a female. I’m not getting particularly strong Roo vibes, but I’d like to get more opinions on what people think my little baby is. Four/Five week old Turken. i can get more pictures if needed

    Run and chick question

That is what i am looking for! That’s a great example! I probably won’t make it out of wood (if i can help it because wood is $$$$ right now). But that’s a great idea

    Run and chick question

So i currently have an established flock of 6 girls, their run is 10x15. I have a brooder of 8 more girls, and plan on doubling the run. What can i build/buy for a temporary ‘run’ inside of the run so the new chicks and hens can see eachother but not hurt eachother?

    Awful chick

I isolated her for a few days, reintroduced. Now my marans are keeping her in line. I didn’t think a 3 week old chick could be so awful. Lol. She’s still terrible, but if she’s extra terrible, my cuckoos come out of nowhere and pin her down.

    Awful chick

I posted a picture of the brooder. I might have to make a jail for it, this is getting to be too much. It’s obsessive with pecking the welsummer.

    Awful chick

Yes. This isn’t new. I’ve just reached my breaking point because it likes to just target the welsummer.

    Awful chick

61”x61” plus a large 75 gal storage bin with a square cut out of the side so they would have more space

    Awful chick

this is the current brooder. But usually the brooder plate is in a huge 75 gallon Tupperware storage container attached to the side of the puppy playpen, so there is usually more space, I’m just cleaning it out right now and placed the plate in the brooder for ease.

    Awful chick

    Cocci poop?

In their brooder they have the heat plate and the room is kept at like 70 degrees. There is one chick in particular that i haven’t seen have a solid poop, just dark rich brown liquid-y poops. It’s a little slower than the rest of the group. Doesn’t run around like them, but is eating and...

    Cocci poop?

So got five two day old chicks yesterday from my local feed store. All acting normal, running around flapping their wings. checked on them before bed. Found this, should i start treating with Corid? Or is it a normal poop? It has a slightly red tinge to it. Can i treat chicks that young? Also...

    Feel the Keel Bone.

I usually try to hold each bird atleast once a week and give them a head to toe check. Well today I’ve noticed i can feel the keel bone on every one of my birds, and it’s a little more prominent than I’d like. they all have access to food 24/7, as well as the occasional scratch. I don’t see...

    Winterizing a 8’x10’

Realistically? The coldest I’ve seen it is -8ish. But the coops inside is the same temp as the outside, that’s okay?

    Winterizing a 8’x10’

Hello! I’m from CT and right now we are in a cold snap. At what temp should I worry about my girls? Is there anything extra I should do for them to make sure they are okay? I have 8 Birds (2 EEs, 1 Ameraucana, 3 wyandotte and 2 Orpingtons), pine shavings for bedding and a well ventilated 8’x10’...
