    Exploding eggs

They are quail eggs. I set 48 eggs at a time. I haven't ever candled them because I'm not able to see through the different colors of the egg shells and theyre delicate eggs. Don't wash them either. Straight from the coop to the incubator generally.

    Exploding eggs

So I have incubated a pretty good amount of eggs in my nurture right and had good luck. I keep it and the brooder in my office in the house. I had a chick escape and in the process of catching it I bumped the incubator and a couple days later found out I cracked an egg and it was pretty rank in...

Replacement power supply for ecoglow 20 brooder

I lost the power cord for my ecoglow 20..... I found one that fits in a closet and is a 12v 1amp supply but the ecoglow says it takes a 12v 1.5amp power supply. I got it plugged in and warming for the time being as I have day old chicks in the brooder but I'd prefer to Amazon one here tomorrow...

    Chicken tractor for 12 hens

Wanting to get back into having chickens. I had about 100 white leghorns at my last house and let them free range. I also had 35 acres so it wasnt a big deal they scratched all the grass up in a large area. My new home is in a pretty fancy area and I'm on a little over an acre with a nice...

    Leghorn eggs size

Out of 36 hens the fewest eggs I've got since they all started laying was 28 eggs. I've had a couple days where I got 36 eggs. Yea I'd like to start selling eggs on Craigslist but I'm in the process of moving so I hate to start where im at now and then move.

    Leghorn eggs size

Thanks for the replies I tried to search but I couldn't find any conclusive answers on if they would get bigger or not. I'm gonna try and sell some eggs and it'd be nice to have more of the jumbo ones. I've been giving most of them away for cartons on a bring me 2 and I'll fill one up for you...

    Leghorn eggs size

My leghorns have been laying for about a month now and I get some eggs that are massive and alot of eggs that I would say are large to medium eggs. I was wondering if over time they will eventually all get to the jumbo size? They started out laying the size of quail eggs so they have gotten...

    Hovabator genesis humidity pump required?

I'm putting the cart before the horse here but my hens should start laying any day now and I've got 40 of them so I'm gonna have a surplus of eggs and quite a few people have asked me to hatch them some chick's when I get extras. I've pretty much decided on the hovabator 1588 genesis I can get...

    Cornish rocks and white leghorns

Are the red sex link roosters the big ones with the tan splotches? Most of the ones i see online have really dark brown patches by the wings. Is that something that these should develop over time?

    Cornish rocks and white leghorns

Well they got a little older so let's see if we can nail down what kind of chickens these are. There is 3 different kinds. These are by far the biggest and widest chickens. They have a small bright red comb and red earlobes. They are mostly white but have some off white maybe almost tan...

    Cornish rocks and white leghorns

They should be mostly meat birds and a couple white leghorns. The meat birds were supposed to be cornish rocks though. I'll be just as happy if they are white rocks though so I'll get some eggs and eat a couple roosters. It actually worked out better because I was trying to figure out where I...

    Cornish rocks and white leghorns

Male white rocks or cornish rocks get red very early? Mine don't seem to have much red at all. The only one I can tell for sure is a rooster is this one but I have heard one other trying to crow I just don't know which it is. I'd be happy if they are white rocks I wanted eggs and meat. My...

    Cornish rocks and white leghorns

Not boring me at all. I've spent a bunch of time looking for different pictures to compare to mine to. Yea your have alot of red face on them mine barely have a hint of it. They look to be alot wider as well. The white rocks say they have red earlobes but don't look to have as much red on the...

    Cornish rocks and white leghorns

Thanks. I'll look into the white rocks maybe that's what they are. The guy that went halves with me said all the meat birds he ever raised were 6+ lbs by 8 weeks old. Mine do look about as tall as yours though lafarm. If that's a 3x3 hog panel than those chick's are about 6-7 inches tall.

    Cornish rocks and white leghorns

Man I'm not sure these are cornish rocks anymore.... We bought 100 and me and another guy split em 50 chick's a piece. They were supposed to be all cornish rocks but we didn't buy them from a hatchery we bought em at tractor supply. He's raised them before and said there's no way they are meat...

    Cornish rocks and white leghorns

This one? He's only a little over a week old. He's is supposed to be for sure a white leghorn. I got him from a buddy who lost all but the one chick. Also is it normal for the one on the far right with the large red comb to have a comb that big at only 4 weeks? Absolutely none of the rest...

    Cornish rocks and white leghorns

The one that's real tiny in the middle is only about a week old. He's the only one that young I didn't notice he was in the picture.

    Cornish rocks and white leghorns

I've got 2 batches of chick's one is 4 weeks old and one is 3 weeks old. They are all a straight run mix of white leghorns and cornish rocks. There is one chick that has a huge comb and wattles. Seems excessively big for a chick it's age. I'm guessing this means he's a rooster. As of now they...

Cursed to never have chickens....snake magnets.

That's not a bad idea I've got a perch trap at the house. It's pretty much the same thing this is just a big square vs a cylinder like that one. I guess it wouldn't hurt to set it outside the coop. I just bought a dozen eggs so it's happening when I get home.

Cursed to never have chickens....snake magnets.

2 more dead this morning.... one didn't have any signs of what could have got him so maybe he just croaked but the other looked slimy on his top half but was covered in ants. Still no sighting of the snake.... I got lazy and didn't put the game cam up with everything going smooth and me...
