    Turkey with feathered head

Per a request, I am sharing some photos I took today, of my neighbor's turkey hen. All of their other turkeys, including her siblings, look like regular turkeys but for whatever reason, her whole head is feathered quite thickly for a turkey. I cracked up when she came over to see us! They named...

    Post your oldies

You should give it a try! If you've got turkeys, you can always order some peafowl eggs and let the turkeys hatch them. Joslin raises peafowl babies for me almost every year, and I let her take them out free ranging because I trust her to keep them in the area, and they're not that different...

I know how to do it, have done it previously in small scale, and I had all the stuff to do so on the larger scale I wanted right before we had to redo everything to protect the peafowl due to HPAI last year. It's not an idle thought I slapped on BYC in passing lol

I already have them, and the ones I need locally. It's literally just a matter of actually doing it.

She is! I hatched her out of a bourbon red and a royal palm that were thanksgiving dinner my first year having birds... I set all the hen's eggs, but Joslin was the only one who hatched. I tried to keep other turkeys, but they weren't getting along with the chickens, so I got rid of them, and...

@Huntmaster She's beautiful! Joslin is a bearded hen, too, but hers is not as luscious as your lady's :love

I would like to see everyone's old biddies. I have a hen that's a few months shy of 11 (Joslin, hatched july 27th, 2012!), and I'd like to see some other grandma and grandpa birds, for fun. Here's Joslin, for tax, teaching her (adopted) children how to cool off in the water pans:

    peacock as a indoor pet

Great! I hope you never do it. I've had many more years experience since posting this, and have had a bunch more birds raised by myself and by hens And the birds are much more well-adjusted when raised by hens.

Peafowl 201: Further Genetics- Colors, Patterns, and More

Hi this thread is 10 years old and I no longer have the original chart. Instead, I have recently created a genetics guide, located here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1j2xntNyAZQ08MqaLUhYTUJaXicuhX8AEB7OWHQfsdHc That being said, you can't plan to "create" peach without having peach...

    Peafowl Image Database

I can definitely add names or other text to images before posting, but I don't have the data-deep version that adds a true watermark to the photo data (most people don't). If you need more than just text added, you'll need to do it yourself. For just text, on the submission page you actually get...

    Peafowl Image Database

Hello! I know I'm not around much anymore, but I thought I would pop in and say that I've been handed the reins to the Peafowl Image Database website, (previously found at peafowlimagedatabase.weebly.com, now on its own domain, http://peafowldatabase.com although the old link will still...

    A NEW Black peacock !

All the photos posted so far have had their vibrance turned up and their levels adjusted. MINIMAL adjustment to one of the pics provided by @KsKingBee can do the same thing to his charcoal birds in pics. Add in leucistic genes and you can get pretty sharp colors.

    ISO/Trade [W] Various chicken/quail eggs [H]$$, Peafowl Eggs

I am looking to add a couple of birds to my flock, so I am starting to look early. I would prefer to hatch birds alongside my peafowl, who will begin laying toward the end of next month, but can buy at any time if you're ready to sell immediately. I am happy to buy eggs directly, but if you...

    A NEW Black peacock !

If they aren't being advertised as "black" though, and especially since they are specifically being sold as charcoal, it's disingenuous to call them something new. You're also using poor-quality images of charcoals in yellow light. Here's a charcoal from rocking BAB ranch in similar lighting...

    A NEW Black peacock !

I don't know if you just don't speak French, but the ad is advertising blue or pied split charcoal birds, not a new morph.

@Dany12 Can you provide a source link to the owner's info, since the images aren't yours? I would like to be able to have a look myself.
