    One of my golden cuckoo hens is wanting to sit. Today is the first day I noticed this. I do have some 2-3 day old chicks. Would slipping one of these under her tonight break her? I have hay in the nesting boxes, will this hurt the young chicks.

    Help - my Buff Orp. hasn't laid in 4 days! Could something be wrong?

    Chickens take a break. Mine took about a 4 month break. Even when they get in the swing of it again, most all hens will lay for a while and then take a break. I wouldnt worry about it

    I switch over at 18-20 weeks. No matter if they are laying or not. Never had a problem with any. Like the rest has said, they are grown and shouldnt be a problem.
