    Easy Mistake to Make!

The doors fasten with a half lap, and as my hubby pointed out to me when I suggested switching the doors, "the T&G would not line up". Perfectionist.

    I'm in! hello to all!

I am sooo pleased I decided to get chickens. I had now idea they would be this easy to look after. They are so entertaining to watch. My hubby may disagree as he did put all the work into the coop, but he will be the first to have the eggs.

    Easy Mistake to Make!

My husband put the windows into my coop. Made a slight error when fitting and realised he had one of the door upside down! Easy mistake to make. It could go down as modern art, what do you think? Need to get more wood to repair it and put the window in the correct place. Things are never as...

    I'm in! hello to all!

It is addictive. My husband got me my four hens for my birthday. I have already had loads of questions answered on the forum. My husband has built a great coop but made a little mistake today. He was putting windows in and got one of the door the wrong way round.

A little worried -- Will chickens go to bed by themselves?

I am new to this also. We have an enclosed run and did not let the hens out of the run for a week. However, on the first day we went out to check on them and they had all gone into the coop. We were very surprised because we raised our coop of the ground so they had to know to walk the plank...

    My Coop & Run

We now have toggles top and bottom of the coop to close the doors and toggles on the run door. The Run is built up to a brick boarder so unless anything can scratch its way through brick we should be OK. It's also built under a big old tree and the roots were really hard for us to dig through...

    Muddy run - Any advice!

I have only had my chickens for a couple of week and am really enjoying it. However, the weather here has been really bad. It seems to have rained everyday for a week and a half. Part of my run is covered but the bit that is open has become very muddy as can been seen from the pictures. I...

Can anyone tell me how old my hens are?

Quote: The Sussex and Bluebell are clucking, I haven't heard the barnevelda make a noise and the BO is chirping. The BO is also only just getting feathers on its back.
