She has no canker lesion and I treated the whole flock with medicated water for 3 days. Her crop seems empty. Without a doubt it probably is a respiratory infection and we’re getting the supplies tmrw so no stress.

We bought this hen about 7 months ago from a seller. Her breed and age is unknown. She lays eggs just fine and I still haven’t gotten a chance to examine her poop. She also is missing feathers but that because of mating. A rooster of mine that was with them for about 2 days has canker so idk if...

Update: turns out she got pecked in the eye. So no sickness here although we’ll treat her appropriately.

Update: she has a little bit of clear discharge from her nasal cavity. But noting else(beside the swollen eye ofc).

7-8 week old

This pullet is about 7-8 weeks old and I woke up this morning to her eye swollen. I need adivce on this since she so young and I don’t want to lose her!

sadly there isn’t much you can do for a rooster that is aggressive towards other roosters/hens. It’s probably his hormones considering that the rooster is young. Once he gets older he’ll mature. If you plan to keep another rooster in the same coop I recommend having 2-4 feeders/waters to make...

I recommend to completely remove the starter feed since layer feed will already be giving him enough nutrients. If he refuses to eat the layer feed you can always put it in a blender and make it into crumbles.

What are you currently feed him?

Has he by chance had any injuries to his spine? Maybe a sore on his breastbone? Regardless make sure he keeps eating and drinking.
