Well I rehomed the lighter ones and kept the darker and based on the feathers coming in I believe I got females.

Hello All! I got 17 babies from Cackle Hatchery. I ordered Buff, Barred and Partridge Cochins. 3 of my barreds don't look like the rest of them. They are much lighter in color almost a light gray. Are they still barred or did a couple Blue Cochin sneak in? They have dotted and striped eyes...

I'm in rhode island so we have pretty mild summers compared to most that's why they are a good fit for me. I can't imagine the poor things in hotter climates. It's like they have winter coats on.

Mine don't even do an egg song 🤐 And they accept any chicken you throw in with them which makes introductions a breeze. Big puppy dogs. I may have just gotten lucky lol
