    I cracked an egg this morning, and it was filled with blood. What does this mean, and what do I do about it? They all have fowl pox right now. Does this have anything to do with it? I thought that eggs from chickens with fowl pox were still safe to eat. should we stop eating their eggs?

    ChicKat's idea sounds like a good one to me! Now about how much to feed them - Chickens should have unlimited access to their food. They will not overeat, so they will stop on their own when they are full.

    One day I was bending over and putting food in their bowl and on of them flew up and stood on top of me. Today, the same thing happened again with a different hen and this time I wasn't even bending over, just standing straight up. Is there any reason they are doing this?

    I have 5, 13 week old chickens. On the back of the purina food bag, it says we should feed them start and grow until they are 17 weeks. I accidentally bought Layena which is for egg laying hens. does it matter if i feed them that? should i go back and buy the start and grow?

    I have 5 two month old chickens. The front of their coop is all wire. So how old should they be before they can stand colder temperatures like the low 20's? Right now the coldest it gets at night is around 50
