One of my pullets finally started laying a the weekend (the 1st was done outside), so i have been keeping them in the coop till after laying, i clean them out every week and always put plenty of straw/shavings in the nest box & coop, the only problem is they dont like how i do it they kick it...
Thanks just wanted to double check, the 1st egg was lovely & really yolky, since then we have had 2 more (3 in 5 days) and they seem to be getting bigger each time, hoping my 2nd pullet starts laying soon aswell.
One of my pullets started laying at the weekend, the first egg was sat and she layed it in the garden, the 2nd was sunday and was done in her coop the 3rd was yesterday and was done in the run, why as she seemed to have missed a day, nothings changed to her daily routine.
Hi there i also have 2 7 month old chickens that upon till today no eggs, but today 1 of them laid one in our garden, quite suprised really as its pretty cold & raining today, mine to have been sitting in the nest box for weeks but nothing. Hopefully wont be too long for yours either.
Really strange my 2 pullets are nearly 7 month old, and today whilst out free ranging one of them layed an egg at the top of our garden steps, really excited!!
