I have been working with these 2 breeds for several years, but our family has decided to move. I'm looking for new homes for some of my adult breeders. I'm almost out of time and we are located in southern WI.
I have 13 female and 4 male Sultans. These include several crosses and a pure line...
Hi Everyone! I haven't been around on BYC for awhile but I'm glad to see the Wyandotte Thread is as strong as ever!
I have been working on Golden Laced for a while but I have decided to focus on Partridge and Silver Pencilled. That means I've still got a few nice GL (3 Pullets, 1 cockerel, 1...

I'm offering up my flock of Silver Grey Dorkings to make room for some of my other varieties.
I have Roger Tice's line of Reds and this year, I crossed three Red pullets with a Silver male that I got from the Superior Farm line. I hatched about 30 chicks from him and another 50 from his...
The question really is: How bad are they? Usually to get good foot feathering, most birds have some degree of vulture hocking. If it doesn't feel too hard or stand out too much, most judges let it go. It does make that foot feathering look much fuller as adults.
I would also mention that it might not have been the vent. Sometimes chicks that hatch in low humidity situation will not seal their belly buttons correctly. It's very close to the vent, so might appear to be the vent. It would look like a prolapse but would actually be a hernia of sorts. Most...
Hi all,
Just checking in. I haven't been too active lately. We just had a little baby girl (Olivia Lilly) and I've been busy between jobs getting acclimated to my new responsibilities. With 100+ chicks to move around and a drought for the ages, it has been a summer to remember, for sure. I'm...
Sorry to interrupt the flow :) I haven't been on in awhile, but I currently have 15 SG eggs that I will ship on demand. $12 plus shipping (Just sent some to WA for $13). Let me know if anyone is interested.
As to the Reds, I finally got some fertile Red eggs, so I hope to fill the orders I...
He has a lot of good points. His overall appearance is very good. Combs a little rough. I would like to see the tail open a little more and I like a bird that holds his width all the way out to the end of the back. He looks a little tapered to me. Looks like he has nice lacing but I'm not the...
I think the lighter color is because the Mahogany gene is not there. It causes a darker red. This is a very common difference in hatchery stock color vs purebred color. A double dose of the gene gives the darkest, most desirable color.
Sorry for the delay.

What exactly do you think about your bird? Is this just one bird from different poses? The last pic seems a little bigger than the others, but looking at the piece of plastic on the ground, its probably just camera angle.
For a columbian, I would say you are on the right track. Type looks...
You can hatch these eggs fine. The immediate health of the babies is not the issue. The problem that many people have is that these poults would hatch smaller than their peers and then get off to a rough start. If all your poults are the same size, I don't know that you would have a problem. The...
