2 day old chick won't eat, very weak

I gave her poly-vi-sol and a syringe with chick feed and pedialyte. Because she manifested neurolgoical problems I also dosed her with Vitamin b-12. I hand fed her for over a weak and kept her with me in my shirt for hours at a time. Then it she could only eat mush and still needed help...

3 day old baby chick, neurological problems now won't eat unless I feed it.

My Russian Orloff is the only one that hatched out of the bunch. She had some problems and had to be syringe fed. Pedialyte, poly vi sol and crumbles. Then we moved to wet mush stuck on a lid vertically in front of her face and now she is finally able to eat with it laying down. But she will...

ISO day old or bantam chicks as a foster siblings for my single hatchling or someone with a great broody mom that would take in a small going on 3 day old chick. 2 day old chick won't eat, very weak

She is starting to eat wet mush but only if I hold the container in front of her vertically. If I lay it down and even if she follows it as soon as its horizontal she gets confused and won't eat. She also wont drink except from a dropper right in front of her face. I've never had a chick who...

2 day old chick won't eat, very weak

I dipped her beak in the water, I've added poly vi sol and made mush from the crumbles. She wouldn't touch it. So today I got a syringe and pedialyte and put a bit of poly vi sol in it got her to drink some then I added crumbles and got her to take some of that. It definitely gave her a boost...

2 day old chick won't eat, very weak

I had one chick hatch from shipped eggs with very damaged air cells. We are all very much in love with this clingy sweet super tiny chick. But...she won't eat. She won't drink. She wants to be cuddled and sleep. She got pasty butt last night and her vent is a little red. I think its from...

My hands are getting itchy...can't sit on them much longer.

Well the one that I opened died. :( When I peeled back the membrane, his head was stuck between two massive vessels. The other one I decided not to touch. It chirped for while. Then the chirping started to sound weak and gravely. Then instead of a regular chirp it did these consecutive...

My hands are getting itchy...can't sit on them much longer.

Well...the chick with the egg I pipped isn't doing so hot. Its starting to click when it breathes...but at the same time its more active. It looks to be struggling and like it wants zip but I think she's a goner. She is just in a weird position I don't think she'd have made it either way but...

My hands are getting itchy...can't sit on them much longer.

The one that opened looks like she started to struggle in the membrane and tore a blood vessel. There's actually not a lot of bleeding but it looks like its gasping a bit. The other egg is still chirping occasionally and wiggling. So its still alive. Its weird, the one that I opened, all...

My hands are getting itchy...can't sit on them much longer.

I'm not sure what my humidity is because my hygrometer quit working half way through. There is no condensation even though I had the well filled and then added some to the other well, and after I saw how dry the outer membrane was I added a hot wet rag. Its been about 35 hours since they...

My hands are getting itchy...can't sit on them much longer.

Well since no on answered I opened one, the one I think that chirped first. The outer membrane was really tough. I think she's in a malposition because although she pipped into the aircell her head is on the bottom portion of the egg and the body is up the side. Once I peeled away the white...

My hands are getting itchy...can't sit on them much longer.

So...I have only 3 eggs survive to lock down. All had pretty bad air cells. The 3 that survived had severe saddle shaped air cells that extend down over half the egg. I actually ended up increasing humidity because it was growing so fast. I can't even imagine how the chicks survived this...

    Mealworm farming

Ok..good. No more potatoes for me. I just got sooo busy. Carrots from now on. Oh and I've only had beetles for about 10-14 days and few are dead. Is that bad?

    Mealworm farming

I have a question. I am growing mealworms for the first time. Mine finally have turned into beetles and I'm super stoked. But I left a potato in there for about 6 days. It didn't look moldy...just brown and shriveled. I'm worried about Aflatoxin affecting my chickens and hedgehog. If it...

Chickens won't go in the coop and its 6 degrees!

I hope someone answers by tomorrow because I just froze my butt off wrangling chickens. I threw in a ton of pine shavings just in case theirs is wet from tracking in snow. The babies I hatched out don't fight too much but the roos have a hard peck! The babies my broody hatched are evil little...

Chickens won't go in the coop and its 6 degrees!

Last night I got home and went to lock the chickens up and my one hen who sleeps by herself in the pool shed was in the coop and the rest were outside. Some were in the little half moon protected part of the basement window and some were roosting on the metal which is freezing. It got to about...

Assisting a hatch, now what...need advice ASAP!

I've assisted in many hatches but the ones that are late, dry membrane but still have blood vessels...those have never survived. I don't think they are stuck, I think they are just too weak. But I am very sorry. Sounds like he hung on for quite a while.

    4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

That is sooo awful. Do you have roos? Can you just get rid of the roos? Hens are certainly not that loud.
