Just an update. I was only able to save one of the chickens he got back to normal with in a few days but then got off balance again sunday so I put him back in a cage with viamins water and feed. He also feels starved even though all the others are nice and big. Im just going to keep him seperate.
I had to leave for work so. I'm not sure if they have changed any. Four would drink when I put water infront of them. Two could. Not sit up just lay down contorted. They can't walk
They are cornish rock. I have had them since the end of april but they have been free ranging so they weren't big enough to slaughter so penned them up about a week ago. I could still slightly feel the brest bone this wensday. The other six are as normal as could be went out to range this morning.
Went out this morning. Found six meat chickens that looked dead until you touch.them. They move and some.scream. The other six are fine. I fed them at 7pm last night they were fine. Only thing changed was the feeder. It was metal but clean and kept with all other feeders. Any ideas?
I found one of my rooster in the yard on his back. He was movinging his legs and trying but looked a truttle on its back. When i stood him up he would take s few steps then fall on his side. He would move his legs like he was trying to get up but made no progress. This has been about a week ago...
I had 4 chickens left that survived the sudden and mysterious illness last week and they were all doing great running around and eating and drinking. We gave them some squash out of the garden today and then about 30 minutes later we noticed that one chicken was gasping for air and flopping...
I feel completely fine this morning. must have just been the heat and stress that got to me. I still have the 4 hens this morning that were alive when i went to bed. they seem to be OK. but so did the last 3 that passed away.
I feel a lot better now so hopefully it was just the heat or something. I fed the chickens at 7:30 and everybody was active and eating. i got home about 9:00 and one of my buffs had passed away. now they aren't showing any symptoms at all, they are fine one minute and then dead the next. I just...
these chickens have been out with my older ones for about a month or more now. I am in the city with city water and There hasn't been anything sprayed on my land. my animals are on the back of property away from any other houses and the road. I do have a creek that runs through my field that...
Other than a salmonella outbreak that is on the CDC website i cant find anything about sick chickens in this area. I just got sick all of a sudden it hit me real fast. light headiness, vomiting, diarrhea, cant hold now food, bad stomach pains. I was completely fine earlier today. no i'm worried
What ever it is, it is getting stronger with ever chicken it affects. it went from three days before the chicken died to 12 hours after symptoms showed. now it is 4 hours! I fed the chickens this morning at 8:30am i came home at 1:30 and one of my light Brahmas had passed and he was showing no...
My hen that i posted about earlier has passed. it took her 3 days to finally pass. yesterday i found one light Brahma up on the hill dead. Today i found 2 light and 1 buff huddled together under the bridge around 5pm, 2 have passed already. One is still eating and drinking but not very active...
She is much worse today. i thought she had passed away this morning. she was laying on her side but when i opened the cage she moved. I set her upright and she would not open her eyes. she had drunken all her water last night. i tried to get her to drink but she just laid her beak in it. I had...
She has not gotten any worse but continues to drink a lot of water. i think she may have eaten a few bites of food. still alert. but still not standing or walking just scooting around.
She feels skinny and they are not fed any corn just a commercial pellet. Dose fatty liver syndrome come from over feeding corn? I think that is what an old timer once told me.
