I have a chick that is having trouble with just one of it's legs. Is it possible to just have one spraddle leg???? They are about 3 days old, were hatched in an incubator and not shipped, and are getting vitamins in their water and medicated mash... any suggestions???
I have 16 baby chicks that are in a "brooder" in my basement. One of the chicks that was previously fine has just started "limping". It doesn't put weight on one of it's legs and keeps stretching it's leg and it's wing out. They are on medicated mash and I have been putting vitamins in their...
Okay, so this goes against EVERYTHING that they say here on BYC, but...
I just hatched my first hatch and I had every intention of leaving them in the bator until they had all hatched. The first chicks were playing soccer with the rest of my eggs AND it had been 24 hours since they had hatched...
Wooohoooo! I want to thank EVERYONE on BYC for all of the info and support. We're winding down our very first hatch EVER and we've had 16 out of 20 eggs hatch!
I am officially a hatching addict!
I just hatched for the first time using an LG still air. We're just at the beginning of day 22 and so far I've had 16 out of 20 hatch. We even had a power outage and I had to rush the thing to my workplace to plug it in...
I only had trouble if I didn't keep my actual room temperature...
Okay, I'm not hatching turkeys, just chicks, but...
I finally pulled six out this morning because they were playing soccer with the 14 other eggs. One had been in the bator for over 12 hours and it still wasn't dry (70+% humidity). They are all fine and now fluffed in the brooder (praise...
Just finishing up day 21 and we've had 10 out of 20 hatch successfully with quite a few more pips and zips! Praising God and giving a lot of credit to my LG still air bator. I didn't have any trouble regulating temp or humidity once I got the hang of things!
My first chick of 20 has hatched!
The problem is that he's playing soccer with the remaining 19 eggs, five of which have already pipped! Is there anything I can do at this point? I know next time I'll use egg cartons, but it's a little late for this hatch...
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Who would have thought anyone could be so happy about their hygrometer NOT working!!! Glad to hear it's not your bator - time to get hatching!!!

Thank you! It is very exciting! I have 20 eggs in the bator. I'm not sure exactly what breeds... some are green/ blue eggs and some are brown. I do know that there was a Turken rooster running around, so there's a good chance some of them will be Naked Necks! I'm not too sure how I...

I will be watching for an answer, because this would be incredibly helpful to me, also! I have blue/green eggs and brown eggs... the only thing that I'm certain of is that there was a Turken rooster running around in the barn, so there's a possibility that I may end up with some Naked...
