Thanks so much for the help. I dropped something on her leg about an hour ago, and now she has her foot down, but is just kind of limping. I feel like I am going to throw up! Thanks for your help and I am going to keep an eye on her, and if it seems she's struggling I will go with what you...
One of my 4 month old BR pullets has a broken leg. Is this something that she could recover from? She is holding the leg up and just hopping around. Anything would help! Thanks!
Thanks for the reponse. I love to turkey hunt, and I know that turkeys make the same of call. They have the "cluck" which is "I'm here" and the "alarm putt" which is head's up everyone, and get ready to run. They pretty much sound the same, I guess it's the intensity of how they use it. And...
What is a chicken saying when she does that boc, boc, grrrr? When my chickens are out I can hear them doing this distinct sound at times. I'm just curious, because they get along and always seem to be happy.
I can't post pictures yet, but my wife, little girl, and I got our garden planted today, while the girls, Rose, Princess, and Mrs. Wheatley patrolled the yard, had naps in the shade, and a dust bath or two. Had some cold beers this afternoon to enjoy my little slice of heaven. Life is good...
Thanks for the help everybody! I checked it out and I guess she might be a little hot. It has been in the high 70's or 80's but she is acting normal. Maybe she just likes the water. I'll keep an eye on her and thanks again for all of your help!
I have a 3 month old BR pullet that is pooping a clear, watery stool. She has been doing this all day. She is acting and eating fine, and all they've had to eat are starter crumbles and fresh water. Is this a sign of something brewing? Thanks for any help.
I would clean out my chicks pen, fill the feeder and they would walk up to it and scratch all the feed out! I've hung their feeder up in their outdoor coop so they wouldn't poop in it. The food stays cleaner, and they can't kick it out, but they still scratch with their legs as they eat...
I'm glad I saw this, it's been a big help. I can't wait to try it tomorrow night with my girls. So just shining a flash-light up in the coop where they can see it will help lure them in at night?
Thanks. Mine are 8 weeks old, but I've got still got some starter left. I was gonna give it to them until it ran out. I was just making sure I could move up to something else the next time I went to the feed store. Thanks for your response!
