    I have a cochin bantam that started laying eggs just fine then she went broody and didn't lay another egg again for like six months then just a couple weeks ago she started laying eggs again now shes broody again. I dont get chickens sometimes

    sorry about the bad news. I know it hurts. I've lost chickens to every thing from coons, possums, weasels, and yes even bears. but us chicken folk just gotta keep tryin with better defenses, traps and whatever we can do. so dont give up.

    if thier young you may have to trim the grass but trust me when they get older there wont be a blade of grass to be found.

    The peep will suvive on that yolk sack, in a couple days it should go away. and I had chickens with messed up feet and they did just fine.

    I just went down too check on my setting hen, there was a broken egg under her witch caused three eggs too stick to her feathers I peeled the feathers off the eggs.and was wondering, should i go down and wash the eggs off or just leave them alone?
