obsessed - Thanks, but I told you that my future goats are not for dinner...lol
Epona142 - Thanks for the info. With me being new to the goat world, I wanted to make sure before I bought them. I plan on milking them and you cannot milk a goat that you cannot get close to...lol
Now I have to...
Thanks for all of your replies. I just do not know how much this lady is gong to handle the babies, with letting the doe raise them.
She raises more Boer goats and all of them were friendly. She has one doe that has 3 kids that are 3 wks old and they were friendly and wanting attention....lol...
I went and looked at some goats this morning. I ended up not getting the Boer/Spanish mix. She has a couple of Nigerian Dwarf does that are due between mid-February and the end of February and I am thinking about getting a couple of kids from them.
The thing is that she will not sell them...
FarmerChick - I am afraid that I will go spend that kind of money on a goat and NOT like the taste of goats milk...lol I guess that I could always have it as a pet and then sell the babies from it. I just really want fresh milk and a cow is too much for me to handle....lol
PotterWatch - I...
Hopefully you will have an easier time finding them in your area, than I have in my area. I have been doing research and looking for a few weeks now and there aren't that many in my area.
Yes, I know that her kid/s would be smaller. She is actually not a large goat to start with. She is standing next to some of the full Boers and she is quite a bit smaller than them. (Only seen pics. at this time. I will be going to see her in person soon though.)
I want milk, but we are a...
FarmerChick - Thanks, that is what I was asking about. The amount and the taste.
If anyone else has a comment, then please post it. I have seen pics. of the doe that she has for sale and she is very pretty and she is bred to a Nigerian Dwarf, but I am really concerned about the milk...
I know that Boer goats are not dairy goats, but I was just wondering. I have been doing research and am looking forward to getting some goats in the near future. I have read that some have, but was wondering if any of you have any experience in doing this.
I know that the udder and teats are...
I am so proud of all of you and me too...lol I haven't been online very much, sorry. The headaches have been kicking my butt. I have had one every night for the past several nights and I go straight to bed, when I feel one coming on. I am hoping that I do not get one tonight or ever again...
I was wondering when you were going to chime in and give me your answer...lol
I guess that I can go change my question marks on my other thread. I changed the pics. on there and hope that they are all clearer to see.
Thanks,
Dorothy
MissPrissy - Yes, Roger said White Rocks, when I got them. I did speak to him a week or so later and asked him to make sure, because of the white legs. He was positive that he "ordered" White Rocks from the hatchery. I don't know if the hatchery made a mistake or what.
The roo is as big as...
I got these chickens from Yogiman, last month. He said that these are White Rocks that he got from a hatchery, back in February. It was pointed out to me that Rocks have yellow legs. All of these have white legs. I know that they are not Leghorns. These are fairly large chickens. What do I...
Thanks, I needed that hug and I am not giving up. I just had a stumble...lol
I hope that your hands gets well soon. Congrats. on not giving in and smoking at that difficult time.
AAARRRHHH!!!! Why do people have to stress me out??? Well, I fell off the wagon and had a smoke today.
My FIL has home health that comes out and takes care of him. Well, the nurse told him that he was in congestive heart failure, so get someone to drive him to the hospital, do not...
Congrats. to all of you/us. Everyone is doing such a good job and taking control of theirs lives, instead of letting the cigarettes control them.
Keep it up. I too am on and off of here, because I want to sit here and smoke cigs. while on my puter.
cajunlizz - I am in Ponchatoula, LA...
I know that it is hard, but try not to think about the cigs. The more that you think about them, then the harder that it is going to be on you.
I did start my butthead jar and put $4.00 in it. I will add another $4.00 tomorrow. I am determined to overcome this addiction and WIN!!! I know...
I'm in Louisiana if you need a tester here..........lol My DH loves the green eggs. I lost all of mine to a coon attack a while back, except for one. He did break her neck, but she has survived. I don't know if she will ever lay again though.
Thanks,
Dorothy

I know that it is tough, but it will all be worth this frustration in the end. I find that if I get up off of the computer and take a walk, tend to chickens, something to occupy my mind, then that helps alot. Here is another one, just to help a little more.
