    I have 3 hens hatching chicks right now and we had choose to only have one be the mother hen but someone had told us that if we did that the other hens would not set anymore by not letting them mother the chicks. I was wonder was this true??? Please help first time hatching chicks.

    please help broody hen

    I have a broody hen. This is the 1st time for me. I know she has some eggs under her but I don't know how many. Can I move her to check the egg and then put her back?? I'm worried if I move her she won't want to seat anymore. Please help.

    There about 5 weeks old. I just don't want anyone to get hurt. I really just want everyone to get along. I'm just looking for the best way to introduce everyone. Yeah I was think maybe I should try supervised visits for a little while. Hopefully it will work out

    I don't have a lot of room. I didn't realize when I got chicks given to me that this would be a problem. I'm just don't want anyone to get hurt. I was thinking I could have them together during the day when I'm around and put them in a dog box at night. Do you think this might work.

    I was wondering how you can tell if your duck is a female or male?? I know mine are still a little to young right now but would like to know how when they get a little older.     Thank you all for making me feel so welcome. The good news is I just stopped by a farmers animal market 4-H was having and got 2 runner ducklings to go with the mallard. I'm so happy!!!! and the great thing is I didn't even know about it I just so happen to ride by!!!!
