We have two Cochins, one black and one yellow. I can't remember the exact breed but might be able to find it in an old e-mail. We also have one hen which I believe is an American Game Fowl. The Cochins were born last summer so they are a little over a year. Then American Game Fowl we do not...
Where did you order your watering nipple? I don't think I have anywhere local to buy one so I am looking around online and I didn't know if it matters which one I use. I would like to hook pipe up to a rain barrel for a watering system.
We had one American Game Fowl hen and today we added 2 Buff Barred Cochins and 1 Mottled Cochin. All three are 2 months. I am trying to keep them separate so they all get use to eachother but they are jumping up and slipping through the fencing I used and they are just trying to roam around the...
Hen is an enclosure completely enclosed. No holes anywhere in the fencing and no holes in the ground. She is the only hen in the enclosure. Today she has missing feather on the top/side of head but the skin is not read. Right around the sideof her head close to where the neck starts she is...

I looked the other day and didn't see any on Craigslist. maybe I am looking in the wrong place but I will try again. I would love to get some hens or older chicks. I figure most people want them as young as possible and I would rather get the girls that noone wanted and love them.
no terrier or hunting dog! Maybe a type of herding dog. I would look into the breeds and what they are bred for. I am sure you will find one perfect for what you need.
They were abused. Though, last night we figured out the problem. We saved our last chicken from a raccoon. We didn't see how it was possible for an animal to get in but we found it. We fixed the problem late last night after being woken up by the raccoon trying to get our chicken. We rushed up...

Say I were to get 6 hens total. Could each be of a different breed and that be ok? Or would I have to have maybe at least 2 of each breed for them to be happy?
I am not picky on what type of chickens. I will love any breed. I would like egg layers and possibly chickens that are hardy in the cold weather but that doesn't matter as much. Anyone know where I can get some hens or chicks near Pgh, PA?
They are now confined to an area completely enclosed and I can not find any holes anywhere going in or out of the run. At the beginning of the week they had access to an area with no coverage from above but since this incident we have given them less space but still plenty and put netting over...
I am new to this and rescued 3 hens and 5 chicks a few months. I believe they all came to us around the end of May. Everything was going great and then all of a sudden a week ago they started to die. At first we thought maybe a hawk got them. Though some were still there and a few we never...
