We just purchased two laying hens to add to our flock. This afternoon we were catching them to inspect for mites and found this hen to have this gash. Should we be doing anything about this? She's laying and acting normal... She also has some bald spots on her back and butt where there...

We are in Northern Alabama and the humidity outside is around 87%
Here is a really short video of our only baby chick. She hatched 2 days ago and seems lethargic and looks like it's panting. We are keeping the brooder at 95f and the humidity at around 60%

THanks... I'll try that today. The one that did hatch came out two days ago and the incubator smells awful. I didn't know if the baby chick was stinking or dead eggs.
