Welcome penquin. I love the town of Beaver. I got through there every Friday and every Sunday on my way to Rogers to pick up and take home my boys.

My other ones stood out there and watched so maybe they will get the idea.....

Today I butchered a rooster that had attacked my 6 year old. He only dressed out around 3 pounds maybe. I wasnt planning on do it yet but he had to go.

Well I ended up with 3 out of 24 not a good hatch at all. And to top it all off one of the died just a few minutes ago. My 4 year old looked in brooder and said "Dad one of the chicks is dead." and sure enough it was.

I have 3 babies as of now. I am going to give the rest of them until tomorrow.

I was about to give up with 2 that hatched 2 days ago. But I got another pipping right now. Not giving up yet.

I still only have 2 out, but they were a day earlier than i was expecting so not concerned yet

I have two out, no signs of any other pips as of now. Got to goto work maybe I will have more when i get home.

In the amount of time it took me to walk by the incubator, and into the restroom. I hear the boys "Dad this one has a hole in it" by the time i got out of the restroom one was all ready out, and another one piped.

I got lots of peeping going on but no pips yet. I was awoken by the children yelling about hearing the chicks.

I just checked when I got home, nothing new to report. COngrats for those who have allready hatched.

Well its getting closer, I am going to candle one more time and then put them in lock down. This time around I tryed the dry incubation method. So i have to get the humity up.

The boys and I candled last night. 22 or 24 for sure going good. 2 of them I am not sure of but not ready to give up yet.

Powell's Feed is made up here in green forest and is a good feed. That is all we feed any of the animals.

I have 8 birds from my first hatch. 4/23/11. I have one known Roo, huge comb and wattles, and of course crows. No others have crowed. What I am taking to be a good sign, the one he was on i have yet to figure out hen or roo.

I couldnt wait till i got home to candle. We just did them still a little early hard to tell on some, but the majority are defiently veining nicely.
