How long after hatching should the chicks start eating? He has been drinking, but seems uninterested in food, and is 2 days old. Is there a trick to getting him to eat?? Also he does not seem to be pooing since yesterday maybe just a little??? Any info would be great thanx
He is drinking, but isnt interested in the crumbles. Is there a way to get him to eat? or will they figure that out themself? I have the food just on the floor in the box, using a little towel for a bottem.
My chick is now 1.5 days old, and this morning he seems to be very quiet and just sleeping a lot under the lamp. Im not sure if this is normal behavior. His right eye wont open either, but someone said that could be normal. Im really getting concerned

I hatched a chick last night almost exactly 24 hrs ago. I had to leave him alone for a little bit, wwhen I came back I noticed his one eye is closed and he doesnt seem to want to open it. Is this common, is there something I can do? The only thing I can think happened is maybe he scratched it...
