I've seen them I'm just wondering if its possible to breed them and get them to breed true I know it would take time and lots of breeding but I think it would be awesome to have mini Welsh's
Even with hatcheries and beak sexing which wh are known for its still only about 90% so could easily be a drake either way this breed is beautiful weather male or female
don't be surprised if after her first molt she looks completely different! You also have to remember this breed originates from the khaki Campbell line of ducks so a hen could be as dark as a khaki Campbell def would not be sop I personally am breeding for the lightest colored female possible...
Thanks y'all my wh hen has been laying steady for over a week now :-) I need to track down another hen or two a lot of people are wanting babies when they hatch
I think I'm going to set them weekly I do remember as a kid we had a female duck who laid 20 eggs over a 3 WK period and all the eggs hatched so I'm still a bit up in air about it and I have 2 incubators so I can use one for incubation one for hatching anybody know how good of broodys a wh is ????
Question for my folks that breed wh if your holding their eggs for incubation how long do you hold them I've read 7 day and I've read 2 wks ?? Any help would be appreciated
Egh this hatchery that hatchery I'm just glad they provide the services they do its like any other company there's competition I'm glad I got mine from a breeder within 2 hrs of where I live :-) and cute pics no matter what they are boy or girl to cute to hate :-)
Just put clean hay out for duck nesting area and my female wh walked in made some funky low growling noises and wagged her tail lol she did this for about 5 min I think she's very pleased with fresh hay lol
