Wow I didn't think about the JG diluting the blue egg. I'm curious to see what size the babies I will have after I get some JG pullets and have my leghorn roo get frisky. I think it will be interesting. I'm hoping that I will have some EE babies as well so that I can just mix them all together...
So a lot of people have been talking about making chickens larger that are EEs, why not just breed with a jersey giant and then go back and forth with an EE?
That comb is so wicked on him. That would be something to explain to people why his comb looks so awesome. I already have some friends that say my buttercup looks weird because of her double row of combs. I love her though.
Oh ok, I was a little worried there. I couldn't tell the size of your birds beard because its all the same color. Its so funny how chickens turn out, they are so different.
Man I hope my EE doesn't loose her beard. I'd love for her babies to have little beards. Oh well we will see, not like I can tell the chickens what to do or what not to do.
Ok, that makes me feel a little better. I would be soo happy if my chickens went broody over the winter. My rooster is getting pretty anxious with the girls, they haven't paid him any attention yet and I think he's starting to get frustrated. Though with my luck my chickens won't go broody at...
They are soo pretty. It just amazes me how many different colors chickens can be. Those spurs are huge on candy cane. I can't wait til my chickens all have chicks. It will be quite interesting what comes out of it all.
That white chicken is Sunny. Hes my leghorn. I have quite a variety of chickens. 1 production red, 2 BSL, 1 silver campine, 1 sicilian buttercup, 1 EE, and 1 leghorn.
I would say that is a pullet. The hackle feathers are rounded and if I'm thinking correctly if it was a male it would have some red on its feather wings. (also the comb isn't very red or well developed yet) That pullet is gorgeous by the way!
That is really interesting, when people say that their chickens stop laying for the winter times I was thinking that they halt altogether. Raising chickens is quite an experience. I must say that I love my EE as well, she is quite the bird of the bunch. I am also hoping that all my chickens...
