That's a good thing Lacy, trying new things is fun. I would love to try some of the things listed, especially the Southern dishes that have been around for centuries...

Come on Speckled, live a little. Try a chittlin or a scrapple or a snail.
I've never tried any of those either but I will if you will. Heck I don't even know what a scrapple and chittlin are.

I think I'd rather eat a bug before I could eat brains, or an eye ball...texture thing...bleh I'm glad you were brave enough to try them though. Life is short, we should all try more weird stuff.
What are Lamb Fries and Calf Fries? If it's something that most of us may not have heard of, can you describe what it is?

I wish they had tasted like chicken. They were deep fried so that helped a little. It was kind of a situation where there are about 20 people watching and waiting for my reaction, so it was almost like a dare. Of course I caved and ate them and told everyone they were good...truth be...
I was in Missouri last spring visiting friends. They live in a small town and get together every Saturday night for beer and fried "Hognuts"...yep, that's what they are and I ate them.
Food is a popular subject on this site... So tell me what is the strangest or most exotic thing you have ever eaten on purpose. Bugs while out on your motorcycle don't count.
