Hey there I was hoping to see if you had a maran based on my funds I'd like to try to get 1 friday
I'm not breeding Marans this year, but have some really nice French Black and Wheaten chicks from very dark eggs growing out to breed next year!
I've had about 4 calls in the past week or two where the people did not leave me a number to call them back. Our caller ID doesn't work. So now our message asks people to leave a number if they want a call back.
I've got about 80 poults right now that range from newly hatched up to about 3 months old. Most are Calico or derivatives (Royal Palm, Pencilled Palm, Blue Palm, Red Palm and others....but they are too young to tell exact adult color right now). Also Tiger Naragansetts. $12-$15 depending on age...
I use the $10 Walmart thermometer with humidity and temperature reading that records highs and lows for the past 24 hours. I set it on the top shelf of my cabinet incubator for a few days, then will move it to the top of the hatching tray for a few days. They usually last about a year for me and...
If you are moving to Fayetteville, Woodard's grocery in Lynchburg is closer to you. They sell Tucker feed cheaper than anywhere else. I bought chick starter there this week for under $10/50# bag. You call in an order by Monday morning and pick it up on Weds. Our birds do fantastic on Tucker.
It's me! Golden Gaits Farm between Shelbyville and Lynchburg....I've got a bunch of chicks and juveniles right now in Polish, Silkie, Bantam Cochin, Buff Orp, New Hampshire Red, Bielefelder, Bresse, Easter Egger/Olive Egger. Also heritage turkey poults and Muscovy ducklings. PM me for more info...
We buy all of our chicken feed from Woodard's grocery in Lynchburg. I call in an order every other Monday and we pick it up on the same Weds. It's Tucker feed. We pay a little over $8 a 50# bag for layer pellets, under $8/bag for scratch, $9/bag for chick starter. They have non GMO multi species...
I've got silkie juveniles (unsexed) up to 4 months old, Bantam Cochin young pullets and cockerels, and laying pullets, and roosters. Also a few young adult sizzles (Bantam Cochin X Silkie) and frizzled Polish chicks. Prices range from $5 to $12. All are vaccinated for Marek's. Located on the...
As far as I know, there isn't a Woodbury swap scheduled this spring. Emily always calls me a few months ahead of time to help get the word out and I haven't heard from her since last spring.
I tried growing determinate tomatoes in the black mineral tubs one year....made the drain holes, put gravel on the bottom, etc. They grew like crazy and once they got big enough to really start producing, they all burned up. The black tubs get *really* hot, filled with dirt, in the summer sun.
We are about an hour south of McMinnville on the other side of Tullahoma. I've got Bantam Cochins (in blue, lemon blue, splash, lemon blue splash, white, birchen, black, frizzled and smooth), Silkies (cuckoo, barred partridge in several shades, black, and more) Polish (many colors including...
Two of my calico hens started laying last week-end. I'm anxious to put them in the incubator and see if they're fertile yet! Last year I didn't get any turkey eggs until late February, I think. I will have Tiger Narragansetts, Muted Calico (which produce Calico, Royal Palm, Red Palm, Blue Palm...
We might be a little far for you, but we have Tiger Naragansetts, Royal Palm, Blue Slate, Mottled Blue, Black, Pencilled Palm and Calico turkeys from about 3 weeks to 4 months old. $15, $20 and $30 each depending on age/size. We are between Shelbyville, Lynchburg and Tullahoma.
The color pattern is 'cuckoo' and is very rare in silkies. I breed cuckoo and barred silkies. 'Sizzle' usually refers to a Frizzled Bantam Cochin/Silkie cross, and I would agree that this guy looks more like a Sizzle than a pure Silkie.
I incubate peas at the same temp and humidity as my chicks and turkeys with good success...but I don't dry incubate at all- usually 45-60% humidity until lock down and then a little higher. Always lay pea eggs on their side...I lay them in the flat tray on a soft clean towel or puppy pad, and...
