The one that was pipped that I made the small hole for quit. :(
Good news, there is 3 or 4more internal pips in there and they are peeping and alive now for over12hours. The only thing I did was drop the humidity. Fingers crossed this fixed it.
I've got anconas from her and some from thebirdguy. Thinking I've got 8-10 from sarasweatman and 17-19from thebirdguy. Something from these should hatch just because of quantity alone! Humidity is about 055% right now in my forced air.
My first ones from her are the ones that are pipping and quitting. I'm wondering if my hygrometer is wrong, I dropped the humidity and so far I have 3-4more internal pips and they are moving! I hate to think my hygrometer killed those first two but I'm really wondering...
Both vent plugs are removed on the LG's, they are forced air also. Had the same issues with the Brinsea octagon. Vents fully open there too.
I was bad and I had one duckling internally pipped since last night and it is still alive so I made a TINY pip hole for air to get in. If this one...
2 internally pipped ducklings and then they die shortly afterwards.
WHY does this keep happening!?!?
I have had this happen a bunch this year in both ducks and chicks and I am getting frustrated. It has never happened to any of my own eggs this year or any other year that I can think of. I...
Hey, I got curious and had a dead egg that I apparently missed from the lockdown candle. I cracked it, it was at least far enough along I could tell what it was. I'm excited for these to hatch a whole lot more now! Yay, anconas!
Probably true but after all the hatching I need to take a mini break and do a serious sell out/sell down of some of these chicks! I'm feeling overwhelmed with chicks/ducklings/eggs/incubators right now. I keep setting call eggs too. Incubating them stresses me out big time. I'm always...
Two of the turkeys are doing great, two started and quit on day 4. hoping these two do well. If not I'll catch up with you later on for more. I think I'm going to get my last few swaps here and then I'M TAKING A BREAK! There I said it, all will be OK...deep breaths, deep slow breaths...
Thanks silkie I incubate mine on their sides, hand turning 2X's a day. 50-55% humidity for forced air incubators for days 1-23 and 60-70% humidity for lockdown and hatch. Mine typically take 25-26 days. Now mind you these last two little buggers have been a challenge and one hatched (with...
