So I haven't canned in over 10 years or so and got two bushels of apples. I thought I would make applesauce and spiced apples as it would be something easy to transition back into canning. Boy was I wrong!!!!!! Apples are not easy by any means. I will do pickles and salsa any day over them...
I got two bushels of apples and going to attempt to get back into canning by doing some applesauce and apple butter. Any hints or suggestions to make it easier than the book says it is?

Ok so does the canning bible tell you which ones need which? What is that book called? The Ball Blue book I think? Also how much does a pressure canner run?
