What are you canning now?

how long does the chicken breast keep?

It is all sealed so I would imagine up to a year or longer. (think about canned chicken you can buy at the grocery store) Although it probably won't last that long in this household-especially since we only have 4 pints! lol

Hi, for the last couple of years I've canned dilly beans (my husband loves them). I'd like to learn to can other things but they say they require a pressure canner, I'm really afraid of the pressure canners, are they pretty safe? Is there brands you really like or don't like? Any info on pressure canners would be appreciated.

What an insanely busy day!!!!!

Today I have canned:

4 Jars of Strawberry syrup
8 Jars of Rosemary Jelly
4 Jars of Rosemary Apple Jelly
4 Jars of Red Rose Petal Jelly
5 Jars of Honeysuckle Jelly
3 Jars of Strawberry Blueberry Jam

If I didn't run out of things to can, I probably would have kept going... I was on a roll!

I'm just really leary of pressure canners, wish my grandma was still alive, she would teach me.

so was I. I looked for pressure canning videos on you tube. I watched all of them. It gave me a lot more confidence.
and I found it easy enough to do. Just make sure you are able to sit and watch it. The first time is the nervous Nelly batch, and after that you relax.
