Aloha Chicken7777,
Where do you live? Hopefully you can find some close to you. I do know that Duluthralphie is a long time breeder so hopefully youʻre close by.
Good luck, Puhi
Aloha Sol2go,
Haha, I check this site about once a month. Iʻll check soon for your reply. :)
I live on the island of Oʻahu. I breed Cream Legbars, true Araucanas, White and Black Copper Marans and Silver Cuckoo Leghorns. Let me know if I can help out in any way.
Aloha, Puhi
I agree. Just like my BCMs. I have recessive white in that flock too. I call the white ones White Marans, not White Copper Marans, even though they carry the copper genes.
Aloha,
I live in a neighborhood. My first 4 chickens were 4 male Blue Copper Marans. That sucked!
Now I can guarantee female chicks, and yes "culling" is a nice word. It sucks. If only those beautiful roosters would shut up!
Looks like I started quite a conversation.
Aloha, Puhi
Aloha,
I think that the white sports are beautiful, but they are so hard to sex. Autosexing is one of the main things that led me to Cream Legbars.
Aloha, Puhi
Aloha,
Please take pics of their heads. They look to be sexable pretty easily. My earlier ones were hard to sex. My last one was easy. Must be the new roo.

Aloha kākou,
If you have a white sport, it has the white recessive gene on both chromosomes. If you breed that to regular CLs, unrelated even better, the offspring will all look normal but will carry the recessive gene on one chromosome and the color gene on the other. Then, if you breed...
Aloha ChicKat,
They should breed true. My rooster is normal color so heʻs only a carrier. But, one of my white hens is laying very white eggs, which leads me to think that the white gene came from white Leghorns in more recent times. Just an assumption.
I am trying to create a white...
I couldn't find another punnet square with the correct letters to show how this works. I believe the correct letter is C or c. But the capital is the dominant trait and the lower case is the recessive trait. In this case, let r represent the recessive trait that cancels out a gene on a...
Aloha,
If two parents are normal colored but carry the recessive white gene(heterozygous), about 1/4 of the chicks should be white. But if not all of your hens are carriers, then the percentage should go down.
Theyʻre very pretty as adults.
