WOW! That's a lot of eggs! You should join us in the February or March hatch-a-long if you have eggs in the incubator again! I'm taking part in both...because naturally my hatching addiction status has not changed since last year. lol
I just took my one legged rooster, Peg Leg Pete, to a sanctuary yesterday, he was my last rooster from last year. Wasn't from this hatch-a-long but I'm sure you remember the last devastating broody hatch for me last year...the Iowa Blue with the slipped tendon I couldn't fix...yep, didn't matter...
Maybe they're just waiting to get through winter? I feel like a lot of my pullets took longer this time around and I really think it was because of when they hatched. March/April vs June/July made for a longer maturing period even for the same breeds, not by a ton but at least an extra month...

Eggs are my preference as well. It was far more stressful introducing hatched chicks than eggs. The broodies always seem to readily accept eggs. It's too bad you're not closer! I've had those BBS Marans eggs in my incubator for 10 days now and I just tossed the clears. I'm sure you'll be able to...
@jolenesdad that fact that she wasn't aggressive toward to chicks is still a really good sign that she'll be a good broody. She may just need to sit longer before accepting some chicks. You've been waiting so long for a broody, I would hate for you to not be able to enjoy it! Maybe when get...
