Ok, some pictures as promised. In the first image you can see a chick zipping and hatching without assistance. White membrane looks normal, membrane isn't too dry or too wet.
In the second image you can see a turkey chick that I had to assist slightly, it had zipped all the way around but the...
:hugs I'm sorry! I don't know... I would recommend not applying water or oil to where the beak is/the pip location. Most of the time the membrane is still moist where it's covered but if you're doing an assist and opening the air cell you can apply coconut oil, or antibiotic ointment without...
Ok, nevermind then, it just hadn't been absorbed yet. It's interesting that you had an issue with moisture build up in the air cell when your boobs should be fairly good humidity...did you add something wet that may have caused the additional fluid build up?
Unless I'm just not seeing it well in the image and it's actually still outside of the body? Is the abdomen distended and veiny or is the yolk still unabsorbed?
In this case there isn't anything you could have done at the point of hatch. It's from some type of bacteria. As Mylied mentioned, it is normal to see swelling in the neck. This is from a fluid that fill the neck muscle to give the chick strength to hatch. It's also normal to see a slightly...
Well my #1 recommendation is always the Nurture Right 360. It's reasonably priced, comes with an automatic turner, is extremely user friendly, and I get great hatch rates. If you're signed up for neighbor's rewards through Tractor Supply they carry it and you can purchase it with the 10% off...
I'm sorry you've been having such a hard time with your incubators as well. If you do decide to buy one I've used several different models and I've narrowed it down to my favorites that I've gotten the best hatch rates from, including 100% hatch rates.
I'm seriously non confrontational, sometimes to my own detriment, lol. Honestly though, don't let it get to you. People are going to have their opinions. You could have just eaten the eggs instead of trying to hatch little chicks out of them. Not sure I see the problem.
My Husband and I are over here rolling about boob names.

I mean, the options are endless based on cup size. lol, Oh my gosh, cup size, CUPCAKE!
Yes, it starts to look kind of oblong or almost like the air cell saddled but it's what is expected to see right around hatch. Fingers crossed it's soon!
