I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

So sorry to hear about flo, how old was she? I think I would make that move with Judy permanent, I bet she loves not getting her feathers pulled out constantly. I know that mine always cry out when someone plucks their feathers.

I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

I had my husband help me take Cluck-Clucks pinless peepers off, she has been wearing them for months and needed a break. So later my husband and I were out walking the yard and yapping. I was telling him that since I took Cluck-Cluck's pinless peepers off I'll have to keep a close eye on her...

I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

True, I get my hen saddles Here (Etsy) great saddles, very good quality, can order the size you need. she'll even try to make them in colors you want. I've ordered black and while, and brown ones for my SLW's and EE.

I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

Wow, she is a bad case. can you put her in a cage within the brooder so she can see and not touch the others when you are not around? I hate to say it, but after the hell i've been through with my cluck-cluck, (she is still wearing peepers, and it helps some, but I have two that have large bald...

Oh sweet Flo :) My feather picker cluck cluck is back at it, never really stopped though. but some good news, baby and now I think mother have had enough and are standing up to her, hopefully she'll leave them alone. that only leaves morticia and goose that need to tell her to stop. we'll see...

I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

I had one that couldn't take to it the first time, but I tried a few weeks later and she did fine. put them on her, then hold her for about 10-15 minutes, then place her by herself with scratch and meal worms on the floor in front of her. She may over come the peepers for the treats. that way...

Flo looks comfy. You may want to try this to help her aches. you could put it out in her outdoor cage and in her dog kennel, or sunny spot when she sleeps to help her legs. Also I think i've seen people mention you can give chickens aspirin for pain in a small dose?

I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

I have heard of this happening, but I do not have a rooster so cannot add to the conversation, but you might want to search the forums on "rooster getting picked on" or "attacked" or something like that... poor guy

I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

So glad Flo is living the good life! She reminds me of my feather picker cluck-cluck, sweet girl with a bad habit. Fi started picking, but only after one was molting. temptation too much. I have peepers on two still Fi and Cluck-cluck. I'm hoping to increase the run size this summer and then...

I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

Hahaha! It would! Yes, cluck-cluck is a hard case. I've also done the saddles and may put them back on in a two pronged approach. I took cluck clucks peepers off a couple weeks ago for two days, that is when the picking started back up again, and now just continues. I also put peepers on...

I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

My major picker cluck cluck is doing it even with the peepers on now. she doesn't seem to get quite as much feathers so I leave the peepers on, but it is sooo frustrating. "No" therapy only works when i'm out there, and then only half the time :( I may have to cull her,(but I don't think I...

Do you have any live meal worms? When mine wouldn't eat much else, she still couldn't resist a high protein live meal worm... poor Alice.

azygous, I'm so very sorry for your losses. I've never heard of that disease before, heartbreaking. I know you are very attached to your birds like me, as I've read this whole thread and your concern, caring, and love for them is plain to see. I cannot imagine what you are going through. You...

I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

Well, the peepers are back on Cluck-Cluck and I also had to put them on Fi. With Mother molting the temptation is just too much. They were chasing poor mother around and stressing her out even more. Hopefully this doesn't last long. Mother is looking terrible, the feathers on her neck and butt...

I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

Been treating her with monostat for 3 days, she seems to be getting better, her poo isn't just liquid, it has solid in it, I put her out with the other girls, I don't want her to get any more picked on that what she already does (she is second from the bottom). Only she keeps eating the sweet...
