I got 3 chicks out of my 7 eggs. 1 egg didn't develop at all. All 6 remaining were perfect, except for the fact that 3 didn't hatch. I had to help 2 out (1 pipped but didn't zip, the other pipped in the wrong place), and I think while helping them I must've killed the others with the humidity...
Chick #1 just hatched! And I feel so lucky...I walked over to check the incubator and noticed that the pip had been cracked a bit, so I grabbed the camera, and got the entire 30 minute ordeal onto video so my kids can watch tomorrow morning. :D My best friend was also on Skype the whole time so...
lol! Both eggs that were peeping this morning have now pipped. Still nothing from the other 4 that should be alive, but then again I only heard them peeping because I opened it to let some humidity out, so I might not hear the others if they start peeping.
Day 22 and no pips yet...although technically I guess it's still day 21 for a few hours. Upping the humidity seems to have brought down the temperature, so I'm hoping that just slowed them down a little. My incubator hasn't varried from 99 the whole time and now that I've upped the humidity it's...
Yay!! Still nothing here - no peeping or pipping or movement...but I'm being patient. I don't remember exactly when I put them in so it may be that day 21 doesn't even start until this evening. lol It's fine, I know there are 6 babies in there, they will come out when they're ready....breathe...
I couldn't take going in blind anymore. lol So I was evil and opened the bator to check out the eggs. (Luckily it doesn't seem to have affected the humidity much, and it was over 80% in there anyway, so now it's back to 75%). I had 7 eggs, all from the same hen so laid about a week and a half...
On day 20 here on 7 olive eggs from my best hen. No pips yet, and my first attempt at incubation was a horrible failure, but I feel like I've learned and everything is right this time, so there's no reason for me to be nervous, but I am...I really hope they hatch.
