My youngest are almost 4 years.

After ZERO eggs all winter, I’m getting 5-6 a day. I really thought maybe they were aging out.

I don’t care about the eggs, just want them to be healthy. Thanks for sharing your experience. This may be true for mine as well. And yes, they’re really all molting.

I haven’t had any eggs in months. I’m wondering if the girls have aged out. Most of my khaki and welshies are about 3.5 years old. Does that seem correct? They are also molting.

I have a confession. I didn't get ANY eggs for months, and couldn't understand why. My girls were all healthy, so I just chalked that up to winter. What I did do, was alter the barn lighting. I felt sorry for the ducks being plunged into darkness, so I would wake up in the middle of the night...

My girls are healthy, that’s what I care about. But, seriously, zero eggs in months? Like Ms Lidia said, I’m walking the shame to bu eggs for my DH.

Same for me with the molting and zero eggs. Most of my girls are less than 2 years old!

My prolific winter ducks are too excited to go out in the morning. I’m getting about 6 out of possible 10 a day. But they’re sweet and I’m good with that. Winter is almost over, hallelujah!

Yep...I saved them in bowls in fridge and scrubbed them this afternoon...took about an hour.

They are so great for baking. That doesn’t bother my stomach, fortunately.

I can’t eat eggs, have an Amish family that likes them, a few other neighbors that are happy to take them. Funny, the people that want duck eggs have HAD ducks or have eaten them before. (Duck eggs, that is) My Dad won’t try them...because he thinks they’re weird.

I got 4.5 dozen in last 3 days...even in the frozen, frigid tundra we had lately!

I got 9 out of 10 this morning. I have my duck house lights dimming up about hour and a half before sunrise. They seem productive then. I’m so ready for Spring. Winter care for the ducks is very time consuming, and I always worry about them in the cold.
